Analytics and tracking
If you cannot measure it, you cannot improve it. GA4 implementation, conversion tracking, dashboards and reporting - set up properly and explained in plain English.
Tracking that captures what matters
I handle the full scope of analytics implementation - GA4 and Google Tag Manager, server-side tagging, the Meta Conversions API, and the data model underneath all of it. Every engagement starts the same way: working out how your members, products and transactions actually relate to each other, then building the measurement around that. Setups get messy when tracking is bolted on in the wrong order. Sorting out one that already is counts as normal work here.
GA4 implementation
Property setup, data streams, event configuration and e-commerce tracking. Clean, accurate data from day one - not a default install with half the features turned off.
Google Tag Manager
Container setup, tag management, triggers and variables. Centralised tracking without touching site code for every change. Easier to maintain, easier to scale.
Conversion tracking
Goals, key events and conversion actions configured across GA4, Google Ads and Meta. Every meaningful action on your site captured and attributed correctly.
Event configuration
Custom events, parameters and user properties mapped to your business logic. I track what matters to your business, not just what GA4 tracks by default.
Cross-domain tracking
User journeys tracked unbroken across multiple domains. No lost sessions, no inflated user counts, no gaps in your conversion data.
Measurement plans and data layers
Before a single tag goes in, a written map of what gets measured: members, tiers, products, transactions, and the events and parameters that carry them. The document survives you changing agency, developer or platform.
Server-side tagging
Tags moved off the browser and onto a first-party endpoint on your own domain. Fewer measurements lost to ad blockers and browser restrictions, and you control what leaves your site. This site runs on it.
Meta Conversions API
Dataset setup, server-side events and hashed customer matching, deduplicated against the browser pixel. Meta keeps optimising when the pixel alone would go quiet.
Memberships, subscriptions and stores
Tiered memberships, recurring plans and WooCommerce or Shopify catalogues, tracked as the different things they are. Sign-ups, upgrades and one-off purchases stop landing in the same undifferentiated bucket.
Untangling an existing setup
Duplicate tags, three plugins reporting the same sale, events firing twice, a container nobody has documented since the last agency. I find what is actually running, then decide what stays.
Reporting that connects to the bottom line
Data without context is noise. I build reporting that tells you what happened, why it happened and what to do about it. Every number tied to a business outcome.
Live dashboards
Real-time performance visibility in a single interface. No logging into five different platforms. Just the numbers that matter, updated live and written in plain language.
Performance insights
Channel analysis and budget efficiency. I show you the whole journey - not just the last click - so you can invest where it counts.
Monthly reporting
A clear written report every month explaining what happened, why and what I am doing about it. Written for business owners, not analysts.
Attribution modelling
GA4's data-driven attribution shows which channels and touchpoints actually contribute to conversions - a more accurate picture than last-click alone.
How I work
Every analytics engagement follows the same disciplined process.
Audit
I review your current tracking setup, identify gaps, data quality issues and missed conversions. You get a clear picture of what is working and what is not.
Implement
GA4, Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking and dashboards configured to your business requirements. Everything documented and tested before it goes live.
Report and optimise
Monthly reporting with actionable insights. Tracking refined as your business and campaigns evolve. Your measurement setup grows with you.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about analytics and tracking.
GA4 is the current version of Google Analytics. If you are still on an old setup or have no analytics at all, you need it. GA4 tracks how people interact with your website - where they come from, what they do and whether they convert. I handle the full setup or migration so you do not have to figure it out yourself.
At minimum: pageviews, form submissions, phone clicks, purchases or leads. Beyond that, it depends on your business. I map tracking to your actual business goals - the actions that generate revenue - not vanity metrics like bounce rate or time on page.
Yes. I build live dashboards that pull data from GA4, Google Ads and other sources into a single view. No logging into five different platforms. Just the numbers that matter, updated in real time and written in plain language.
It depends on complexity. A basic GA4 and Google Tag Manager setup is straightforward and affordable. Cross-domain tracking, custom dashboards and advanced event configuration add scope. I quote before work starts so you know the cost upfront.
I implement tracking in compliance with Australian privacy law. Consent Mode v2, cookie banners and data retention policies configured as needed, so consent choices are passed to Google and Meta rather than ignored.
Yes, and it is a fair chunk of the work. The usual picture is a container nobody has documented, two or three plugins reporting the same sale, and events firing twice. I start by finding what is actually running rather than what the last handover said, then work out which numbers are wrong and why. You get a written account of what was there before anything changes.
Yes. Tags run through a first-party endpoint on your own domain instead of the browser calling Google and Meta directly. Less measurement lost to ad blockers and browser restrictions, and you decide what data leaves your site. This site runs that way, so you can inspect it yourself.
Yes. Tiered memberships, recurring plans and one-off purchases are different events with different value, and they need a data model that says so before any tag is written. I map members, tiers, products and transactions first, then build the measurement on top of it.
